• Stories bring us together and feed our souls! Storytelling and storyboarding were themes for the annual gathering of All Teams (conference leadership teams) September 13-14. On Friday evening we shared stories from experiences in church. On Saturday morning we were inspired by storyboarding as our conference moderator Steve Slagel led us in imagining Future-Hopeful stories of IN-MI Mennonite Conference (IMMC).
• James Horsch (1939-2024) touched countless lives during his lifetime of ordained ministry, serving as a pastor, teacher, and longtime editor for Mennonite Publishing House. We’re grateful to be among those he touched! We also remember his family as they grieve his passing on August 11. James was a member of College Mennonite Church.

• Joanne Gallardo and Sharon Yoder met with other conference ministers from Mennonite Church USA via zoom on September 17.
• Sharon met with leaders from Parkview Mennonite Church in Kokomo on October 9.
• Joanne attended a conflict mediation conference in Akron, PA on September 26^th.
• Joanne continues to meet with regional pastor cluster groups.

• Jonathan Landis will begin ministry as a pastoral team member at First Mennonite Church in Indianapolis, on November 1. Sharon will join their worship service November 3 to lead a litany of credentialing and commissioning.
• Sharon met with the leadership team of Kalamazoo Mennonite Fellowship via zoom on September 25 to prepare for their upcoming pastoral search.
• Sharon meets regularly with potential applicants for open pastoral positions in our conference. In September she had contact with 10 potential applicants for IMMC congregations.
• Joanne continues to meet with LET to plan for Pastors Gathering featuring input from Nekeisha Alayna Alexison anti-racism work.
• Joanne met with the other Qualified IDI Administrators to discuss continuing education on September 19^th.
• Joanne met with safe church liaisons to discuss prevention and accountability on October 3^rd.

In this Online Oasis experience, Dr. Bob Watson, a licensed clinical psychologist who teaches in our Transforming Community experience, joins Ruth to explore the differences and the overlaps between the dark night of the soul, depression, and the experience of grief.

Whether you are wondering for yourself, for someone you love, or someone you are accompanying, this conversation will:

• Equip you to discern what is really going on.
• Help you learn how to welcome God’s presence into each of these aspects of the spiritual journey.
