Registration will open May 1 for Summer Fest 2026, which will be held at Kern Road Mennonite Church in South Bend on June 12-13, Friday evening through Saturday afternoon. Mark your calendars and plan to join us for this weekend of worship, and fellowship, and learning!
As you make your plans for worship in the coming few months, we invite you to join us in celebrating Conference Sunday 2026 on June 14th—the day after Summer Fest—or another date that fits your worship schedule.
We will provide a resource page (similar to the worship materials in Leader magazine) and a recorded sermon. Watch for these resources in your inbox and on our website at the beginning of May.
A Note of Gratitude from IMMC’s Bookkeeper
“As spring brings new growth and fresh starts, I’m reminded of how much your support truly matters. Every gift reflects trust and care for the work we do together. From my spot behind the scenes, I see how your generosity helps keep this ministry moving forward. Thank you for your continued support and for being part of this journey with us.” – Michelle
* God’s justice rolls down like waters and we are called to join this stream! (Amos 5:24) We invite you to listen to the sermon on Justice and Worship brought to us at Spring Summit on March 14 by Sean Swanson, pastor at Kern Road Mennonite Church.
* We celebrate another positive financial review! On March 20, Janice Eigsti Miller reviewed IMMC’s financial records for 2023-24 and 2024-25. She concludes her report to the Board with these comments:
“I commend the IMMC staff for their work over the past years implementing and improving internal controls and processes. They have made great strides in streamlining and improving the organization of the financial activity of the conference. I also commend the Stewardship Team for their involvement and oversight. The IMMC staff and Stewardship Team chair were very open and helpful during the review process. I have no recommendations at this time or items of concern.”
Janice is a CPA, serves as the financial controller for MC USA, and attends Walnut Hill Mennonite Church.
* Sharon worshipped with Hudson Lake Mennonite Church on March 29.
* Joanne joined the leadership of Belmont Mennonite Church for meetings on March 30.
* Elkhart area Mennonite congregations met together for a Good Friday service at Sunnyside Mennonite on April 3; Sharon joined their gathering.
* MC USA conference ministers met virtually on April 14 to review a new ministry assessment process and updated pastor salary guidelines. Joanne and Sharon joined the zoom gathering.
* Joanne celebrates finishing Intercultural Development Inventory conversations with the last four of the pastors who signed up to participate in 2025-26. (We will offer IDI sessions again this fall.)
* Safe Church is a ministry of Mennonite Church USA to promote abuse awareness, prevention, and response in the church. Safe Church offers curriculum, policy guidelines, consultations, and trainings to assist in this important work; you can find these resources here. Joanne would be happy to engage conversation with you about developing or updating your Safe Church policy.
* Updated Pastoral Salary Guidelines for 2026-2027 are available on MC USA and Everence websites. Few changes are incorporated this year beyond the 2.6% inflationary factor. MC USA, Everence, and IMMC encourage congregations to follow these guidelines as closely as financially possible, to communicate your commitment to quality leadership and show support for your pastor.
Bradley Miller passed away March 14. He served as pastor of First Mennonite, Midland Mennonite, and Marion Mennonite Churches. You’ll find his obituary here.
