Pastor Gathering will be November 17-19 (Monday to Wednesday) at Amigo Centre. There will be time for discussion on focused topics led by Dave Sutter, and as always, plenty of time for resting and retreat.

We invite pastors to mark their calendars and for congregations to pray for those who will attend. Registration is coming soon!

* Parkview Mennonite Church is celebrating 80 years of ministry in Kokomo, Indiana! You’re invited to join the celebration on October 26, with worship at 9:30 am and story-telling at 11:15 am, with a meal to follow. The church is located at 1382 E CR 100 N, Kokomo. If you plan to join the meal, please RSVP to Janice Graber at jsgraber@juno.com.

* Justice will roll down like the waters! Although stories of oppression, injustice, and division are prevalent and exhausting, they won’t have the last word. With Amos 5:24 as our theme for the coming year, we will notice stories of justice and we will share them with others. This act of resistance offers radical hope and an invitation to join the justice-making that God is already doing in the world.

* New members began sharing their gifts and time on IMMC leadership teams in recent months! Derrick Ramer (Benton, moderator elect) and David Miller (East Goshen) joined the conference board (our missional leadership team). Barbara Devereaux (Kern Road) and David Janzen (Fellowship of Hope) joined Ministry Credentialing Team. Anna Ruth Hershberger (Prairie Street) and Brenda Srof (Kalamazoo) joined Gifts Development Team. Janine Byler (Kalamazoo) and Justin Hochstetler (Shalom) joined Stewardship Team. We’re grateful they’ve joined our leadership teams!

* Journey had its fall Weekend Learning Event at Amigo Centre September 5-7. Journey is a leadership development program designed for those who want to equip themselves to become fully formed leaders in the Church and beyond. It’s a 3-year cohort program that works with people who are also balancing families and work. Journey is looking for new students, so please spread the word! Contact Joanne, joanne@im.mennonite.net, or the AMBS Church Leadership Center, churchleadership@ambs.edu, for more information.

* Sharon joined other MC USA conference minsters in a monthly zoom meeting on September 9.

* IMMC’s leadership teams gathered for our annual All-Teams Retreat September 12-13 at College Mennonite Church. Becky Helmuth, conference moderator, led us in visioning, leadership empowerment, and connecting across teams, using water and justice themes from Amos 5:24.

Beginning All-Teams Retreat with a centering activity

* Healthy Boundaries training is required by Mennonite Church USA and IMMC every 3-5 years. Trainings are available Tuesday, November 11 and Saturday, November 15. To register, go to the MC USA website: Healthy Boundaries Training | Mennonite Church USA. IMMC will not be offering a training this year.

* Ministry Credentialing Team has four credentialing conversations scheduled with leaders in September and October, with several more to come yet this fall. Hearing the faith stories of our leaders and blessing the personal and communal discernment that brings them to this point in life is moving for those involved.
