As we start the year, there are several training opportunities coming up, including in-person events from our neighboring conference Ohio Mennonite Conference and from Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary. As a reminder, we offer leadership training grants for pastors in IMMC churches to attend continuing education events like these.
Short Course from Ohio Mennonite Conference: Introduction to Jesus-Centered Preaching
Saturday, March 7 and Saturday, April 18
Huber Mennonite Church, New Carlisle, OH (near Dayton)
More and more churches are discovering the richness that comes when many voices share in proclaiming God’s Word. This in-person short course with Dr. Meghan Larissa Good invites both lay leaders and pastors to grow in confidence and skill as communicators of the gospel.
Across two interactive days, participants will learn practical tools for discerning God’s message for a particular community and sharing it with clarity, creativity, and conviction. Together we’ll explore how to craft sermons that connect deeply with listeners and inspire faithful response to the good news of Jesus.
In addition to the two workshop sessions, registration includes an (optional) personal online coaching session to receive personalized feedback on how to strengthen your own preaching voice.
